The Efficacy of Task-Based Learning and Learning Motivation on Student’s Reading Comprehension: A Wholistic Study

This study explores the impact of Task-Based Learning (TBL) and student motivation on reading comprehension abilities eighth-grade students with a moderate level English proficiency. The research aims to assess effectiveness TBL in improving outcomes investigate relationship between TBL, motivation, performance. includes sixty-four participants aged 12-14 from public junior high school Palembang, Indonesia. control group receives traditional instruction, while experimental is taught using TBL. Pretests posttests evaluate comprehension, questionnaire measures levels. results reveal significant improvements scores for both groups. demonstrates an average post-test score increase 69.88%, indicating efficacy While influences outcomes, no interaction observed.
